Chasing the Dream” documents the inspiring story of Indonesian surfer Oney Anwar in his relentless pursuit to become Indonesia's first surfer to compete full-time on the World Championship Tour. Oney grew up in a small coastal village in rural Sumbawa where his local beach is home to some of Indonesia's best waves. Discovered by Aussie explorers in the 1980’s, Lakey Peak has become THE surf destination on the island of Sumbawa.

By the age of seven, Oney already knew he wanted to become a professional surfer. On borrowed broken surfboards he learnt to surf quickly, and was dominating his local break in no time. By age nine, Oney's childhood dream was already gaining momentum. Encouraged and mentored by a team of international and Balinese surfing superstars, armed only with a surfboard, he was tossed into the crazy world of Kuta Bali. Within months of moving to Bali, Oney was a stand-out competitor on the national circuit. But competing was just the first step - in order to continue his unique journey overseas, Oney needed a sponsor. In 2007, with his family's blessing, Oney left his Muslim island home to start school on the Gold Coast of Australia, as part of Rip Curl's International Grommet development program. This is where things really started to roll for Oney...

Mentored by World Champion, Mick Fanning, Oney started winning major surf events. Oney was chosen to represent his country and travelled to the newly discovered Bono River 'tidal bore wave' in Northern Sumatra to shoot a campaign.

Stunning surf footage, mystical Indonesian islands, and a boy with a ton of talent blend seamlessly together in this visually spectacular documentary about Oney Anwar.
